Terms of use
Last updated October 3, 2026. Draft: being reviewed by a lawyer.
These terms are an agreement between you and Development Hub (“we”, “us”). They apply to everyone who uses developmenthub.ca: the person who creates a platform, the coaches and staff they add, and players, clients and parents. By ticking “I agree” or using Development Hub, you accept them.
1. What Development Hub is
Development Hub is a tool for hockey development staff and private coaches to keep records of their work with players: notes, video clips, tags and focus items, and to share selected clips and notes with the player. Each team or coaching business has its own platform. Platforms never see each other's information.
2. Your account
- Give your real name and an email address you control. Keep your password private.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
- The person who creates a platform is its owner. They decide who joins it and what each person can do.
- You must be 18 or older to create a platform. A player or client under 18 can only be added with a parent or guardian's approval where the platform requires it.
3. What you upload stays yours
You, or the person or organization you upload for, keep ownership of everything uploaded to Development Hub: videos, notes and other content (“your content”). We don't claim ownership of it.
You give us permission (a licence) to store, copy, process and show your content only as needed to run Development Hub for your platform: for example to save your videos, make them play on phones, and show them to the people your platform shares them with. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies in backups, which are removed on our normal backup schedule.
4. Improving Development Hub and research
We may use information about how Development Hub is used, and content with names, faces and other identifying details removed or hidden, to fix problems, improve the product and for research. We never sell your content or your players' personal information.
5. Marketing only with permission
We will only use a video in Development Hub's own marketing or advertising if every player who can be identified in it has given permission in Development Hub: the player themselves if they're 18 or older, or their parent or guardian if they're under 18. Permission is off unless someone turns it on, and can be withdrawn at any time. Withdrawing stops new use; it can't recall material already published.
6. Uploading responsibly
- Only upload videos you're allowed to: you filmed them, or you have permission from whoever did.
- Make sure the people in your videos, or their parents, know you record them for development purposes, as your team or business normally would.
- Don't upload anything illegal, abusive, sexual, or unrelated to hockey development, and don't use Development Hub to harass anyone.
- Don't try to get into platforms or information you weren't given access to, or interfere with how Development Hub works.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
7. Personal information
How we handle personal information, including players' and children's information, is explained in the Privacy policy. The platform owner decides what information is collected about their players and is responsible for having a good reason to collect it.
8. Price
Development Hub is free while it's new. If we start charging, we'll tell platform owners at least 30 days before, and nothing will be charged without their agreement.
9. Ending your use
A platform owner can export their platform's information from the Accounts screen at any time. You can stop using Development Hub whenever you like; email us to close your account or delete a platform. We may close accounts that break these terms, and we'll give reasonable notice before shutting down the service so platforms can export their information.
10. No guarantees
We work to keep Development Hub available and your information safe, but it's provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be limited.
11. Changes
If we change these terms in an important way, we'll tell you in Development Hub or by email and ask you to agree again before you keep using it.
12. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province where Development Hub is based. Questions: hub@developmenthub.ca.
